Arts on the Ave is proud to present the 17th annual Deep Freeze: A Byzantine Winter Festival, Edmonton’s first festival of the year!

The enchantment of Deep Freeze Festival is set to transform the winter landscape on January 20 and 21, 2024! Embrace the magic as we delve into this year's theme, "Under the Toad Stool," a joyous celebration of foraging and a nostalgic return to our Alberta roots.

Immerse yourself in the vibrant cultures that make up the fabric of Alberta Avenue District, including Ukrainian, French Canadian, Franco African, Indigenous (Métis, Inuit, Cree), Latin American, and Asian influences. Wander through our event to discover artistic creations, a homestead village, and musical celebrations that will delight your senses with music, art, and delectable treats.

Arts on the Ave is a registered Canadian charity and we strive to keep our festivals running as free events because our hope is for everyone to have the opportunity to participate in the joys and benefits of artistic expression.

However, creating a free arts festival is unheard of in today’s world. So, how do we do it? With an incredible arts community, excellent supporters, super volunteers, and generous friends. Thank you for supporting the festival through our 50/50 raffle! Your generosity is at the heart of it all!
